Maris Degener is on the show today sharing her incredible story about how discovering the practice of yoga helped her heal, face her mental health, and recover from an eating disorder.
Her story has been featured in many places, but most recently and notably in a Netflix documentary titled I am Maris.
Maris is a yoga student and teacher, as well as a UCSC psychology student. She came to the practice of yoga in high school after facing mental health challenges and has fallen in love with sharing the practice and passing on what has been taught to her. She teaches the Vinyasa Flow style of yoga, and her classes have been described as loving, passionate, and heartfelt. Her classes are intended to guide students back home to their inner power and to provide them with a mindful balance of movement and stillness.
